I have to say, the more I learn and hear about it, the more frustrated I become. I get the concept of "question everything" but a lot of the criticism is pointing fingers at the organization, and by doing so it is crushing the cause of bringing Kony to justice, which is unfortunate. My opinion of the situation is this: (for what it's worth) Think what you want about Invisible Children, but don't let it silence the cause. Awareness is awareness. Despite where IC's money goes, Joseph Kony is a real person committing real crimes against humanity. Let's spread the word and put an end to it.HollyMachttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03889022683932890113noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31470369.post-12953181371684488982012-02-05T21:33:16.691-08:002012-02-05T21:33:16.691-08:00I'm so proud of you!I'm so proud of you!Madame de Plumehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11028625739168122999noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31470369.post-78265185919873615232011-09-18T23:29:04.231-07:002011-09-18T23:29:04.231-07:00Luke is missing from that chair!!!!!! And, you're right about the love component. I think that's what the plank in the eye verse is all about. We're supposed to check ourselves (our hearts, our motives, our lives, our actions) before we try to help or hold someone else accountable. The goal must always be for their best interest and spiritual health and from a heart of love.

I've learned that accountability is vital to my spiritual health. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over. 16But if he will not listen, take one or two others along, so that 'every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.'17If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, treat him as you would a pagan or a tax collector.
18"I tell you the truth, whatever you bind on earth will be[d]bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.

19"Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. 20For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them."Christyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14586216789191327114noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31470369.post-47804908593317089642010-08-01T19:57:38.723-07:002010-08-01T19:57:38.723-07:00Anonymous poster #6 Part III

He persecuted and killed Christians, yet the Lord redeemed him and used him.

“I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has strengthened me, because He considered me faithful, putting me into service, even though I was formerly a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent aggressor. Yet I was shown mercy because I acted ignorantly in unbelief; and the grace of our Lord was more than abundant, with the faith and love which are found in Christ Jesus. It is a trustworthy statement, deserving full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, among whom I am foremost of all. The Lord is near. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things and the God of peace will be with you.” Philippians 4:4-9

Lie #3 is:

“God is disappointed in me”

The Truth is:

You are complete in Christ

“For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form and in Him you have been made complete, and He is the head over all rule and authority;” Colossians 2:9-10

Your transgressions are nailed to the cross

“When you were dead in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions, having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us; and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross” Colossians 2:13-14

You are not forsaken. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death” Romans 8:1-2

The Son of God has set you free from sin

“Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is the slave of sin. The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son does remain forever. So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed.” John 8:34-36

Lie #12 is:

“I can keep a piece of myself hidden from God”

The Truth is:

“But the Lord said to Samuel, ‘Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for God sees not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart”. Luke 16:15

“O Lord, You have searched me and known me. You know when I sit down and when I rise up; You understand my thought from afar. You scrutinize my path and my lying down, and are intimately acquainted with all my ways. Even before there is a word on my tongue, Behold, O Lord, You know it all. You have enclosed me behind and before, and laid Your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; It is too high, I cannot attain to it. Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? If I ascend to heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, You are there. If I take the wings of the dawn, if I dwell in the remotest part of the sea, Even there Your hand will lead me, and Your right hand will lay hold of me. If I say, ‘Surely the darkness will overwhelm me, and the light around me will be night,” Even the darkness is not dark to You, and the night is as bright as the day. Darkness and light are alike to You”. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor do they reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they? And who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life? And why are you worried about clothing? Observe how the lilies of the field grow; they do not toil nor do they spin, yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith! Do not worry then, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear for clothing?’ For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own”. Abraham, Father of the faith, failed to trust God to protect him and he lied (twice he said Sarah was his sister so men would not kill him because of her (Genesis 12 and 20)). Still, God called him His friend

“and the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “And Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness,” and he was called the friend of God.” James 2:23

Lie #10 is:

“I don’t need anyone”

The Truth is:

The only thing God said was “not good” about creation was that man was alone

“Then the Lord God said it is not good for the man to be alone; I will make him a helper suitable for him”. Genesis 2:18

We were made to connect with one another and encourage one another; one body in the Spirit

“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful; and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.” Hebrews 10:23-25

“For even as the body is one and yet has many members, and all the members of the body, though they are many, are one body, so also is Christ. For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit” I Corinthians 12:12-13Christyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14586216789191327114noreply@blogger.com
