Disclaimer: This is a personal journey of discovery for me. I am not claiming any special wisdom or exposition of my own, only sharing how 31 days of wisdom affect me and stir my spirit. I highly suggest, no matter who is speaking or sharing, that you check their words against the words of Scripture.

Proverbs 24

Do not be jealous of the wicked or wish that you were their friend; it only leads to trouble. (v1-2)

“By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established; through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures.”(v3-4)

Wisdom and power go hand in hand; victory comes when there are many advisors. (v5-6)

Fools should keep quiet since wisdom is out of their grasp. (v7)

“Whoever plots evil will be known as a schemer. The schemes of folly are sin, and people detest a mocker.” (v8-9)

Hold fast; be strong. It is for you to stand in the gap for the weaker and those who are being lead away. God will hold you responsible for it even if you say, “I didn’t know”. (v10-12)

Wisdom is sweet, like honey, and is to be sought after and desired. (v13-14)

Do not hang around and wait for the righteous to stumble, they will always rise again; but not so the wicked. (v15-16)

“Do not gloat when your enemy falls; when they stumble, do not let your heart rejoice, or the Lord will see and disapprove and turn His wrath away from them.”(v17-18)

“Do not fret because of evildoers or be envious of the wicked, for the evildoer has no future hope, and the lamp of the wicked will be snuffed out. “ (v19-20)

The Lord and the king are able to bring swift wrath, so be respectful of both. (v21-22)

It is not good to be a biased judge; there will be penalties for those who subvert justice. (v23-25)

“An honest answer is like a kiss on the lips.” (v26)

Make sure you have an income and established position before you build your house. (v27)

Do not speak against someone or arrange for revenge; it will not go well. (v28-29)

The lazy person sleeps while everything goes to ruin. Poverty comes like a thief to those who are lazy. (v30-34)

Dear Father of Wisdom,
Teach me the value of discipline and of obeying Your word. Teach me the way of the wise and to avoid the path of the fool. Keep my heart soft and away from the idea of revenge. Amen.
